Pennsylvania

As we drove onward thinking about where to stop for the night we decided to check our Pymatuning State Park and chose to stay for the night. Pyamatuning is a large reservoir that is in both Pennsylvania and Ohio with park offices and campgrounds a few miles apart in both states.

The campground has 3 loops – the first and largest loop is a pet free area; the other two are much smaller. We found a fairly private site backing onto trees with a small grassy spot beside where we could play with Cedar. Not sure about this pet area thing as it concentrates all the dogs into one space creating havoc when one gets to barking. The bathrooms were very clean with spacious rooms each containing a shower and toilet. I much prefer these set ups. Unfortunately there were no hiking or walking trails nearby.

Being a conservative state with a large Amish presence we were told at the gate that all Pennsylvania State Parks prohibit alcohol (hmmm, will have to be discreet then) and there are no liquor sales in grocery stores either.
