We spent one more week in Ottawa after the wedding to enjoy some time visiting family and friends before heading home. Chris was able to get in a game of golf and we enjoyed a brunch with family in Russell. Family members that had not seen each other in years were able to catch up and meet a new spouse and our newest little member of the family, Freya.
On Sep 12 we said our farewells and set out for the trip home. We plan to take our time, perhaps up to six weeks so that we can stay longer at some of our stops to unwind and enjoy the new places. We plan to take US route 20 mostly. It is the longest contiguous road in the US, but from New York state to Iowa it goes through some big cities, so we will travel more south for a bit, and then veer north again in Iowa to join the US 20. This will take us eventually into Yellowstone which we are really looking forward to seeing.
