Vancouver Island

On April 2nd, after nearly 6 months in the US, we left Grayland Beach and drove 3.5 hours along highway 101 to Port Angeles. This coastal route is a very pretty drive that goes through cottage country following inland ocean waterways on one side and at the base of the massive Olympic National Forest on the other. We had pre-booked the ferry to Victoria and a good thing we did because it was full up. The 1.5 hour ferry ride ($221US) across to Victoria was quick and calm and once back on land the staff were very efficient directing everyone into lanes for customs. Although we landed at the afternoon rush hour in Victoria, we got out of the city fairly quickly and arrived 40 minutes later at Oceanside RV Resort where we booked a month stay.

Returning to Canada – Victoria Harbour

The resort has mostly full-timers living in it, but they provide a good number of short term sites as well. It is located in a good spot for us to start our search for a rental condo or house, and close to shopping etc.
