Grayland Beach State Park, Washington State

After leaving Zion we stopped in Jerome Idaho (11 hours later) and stayed overnight at the county fairgrounds. $10 gratuity. Surpisingly they have about 20 sites with water and electric hookups. It seemed safe and was easy on and off the highway.

Next day, another 10 or so hours drive to Portland, we stopped at an RV park. We had tried the Camping World and the Walmart but neither one allows overnights any longer due to a State law, so we paid $58 for the night at an RV park – too tired to safely drive on to look for something else. At least we could have nice long hot showers, and Miko found grass to chew on.

Onward to Grayland Beach. We are staying here for 7 days before heading home to Canada.

Grayland is a Washington State park in a sleepy coastal area. Westport is the neareast town about 9 miles. There are a shops, restaurants and a marina along the main strip with one decent grocery and all the other necessities in the small town. Quite a few charter boats are available for fishing or sightseeing and fresh seafood for sale. We bought some fresh crab and made delicious crab cakes.

Westport

Miko loves it here at Grayland. She has been very bravely exploring the beach grass trails and loves sitting on the picnic table when we sit out.

In Westport we found a Kite Store and I purchased a stunt kite to play with. I love flying a kite and this one with 2 lines can dive and swerve and do loops. Such fun, but it will take a few tries to learn how to land it properly.
