Holiday Season in the desert

A few minutes drive from downtown Palm Springs is Indian Canyon. We visited on a beautiful sunny day to check out a couple of Oasis and hike in the desert canyon. The charge to enter is $12 per person and being still the holiday season it was very busy.

Caitlin, sadly, had to go back to Toronto on Dec 29 but we had a really nice week with a mix of shopping, sightseeing and hiking excursions. We also enjoyed the heated mineral pool and hot tub every day and luckily mother nature also cooperated with some nice sunny days. The Palm Springs airport is an international airport, so she had a direct flight home.

New Years Eve at the resort we cooked up as fancy a dinner as we were able in the trailer, with of course, some bubbly. The resort put on a dinner and show, but at $65 per person US$$ we opted out. New Years day we headed to the Desert Dunes Golf course. It was cold and windy – and many people would be tired and/or hungover – the parking lot was almost empty. I wore my light down jacket to start out -coldest day we’ve had in a while. The course was in fair shape – good tees, narrow fairways, and too many bunkers but we had a nice round – and finally saw a Roadrunner !!
